Administration and Admissions are the two major verticals which keep the Higher Education Institution up and running. However, it has been observed that there are certain issues in these domains that hinder in the efficient functioning of the institutions as well as the academics of the students.
Regular changes in administrative policies of running a college/university by the Government bodies create hurdles for owners to run their colleges/universities effectively. Such policy changes make it difficult for the owners and administration departments of the colleges to lay a solid foundation for the institutions. This factor ultimately leads to colleges running like factories where the term ‘innovation’ doesn’t exists.
Despite teaching being such a noble profession, a majority of people in India avoid opting for it as a profession. This leads to several vacancies remaining unfilled. Also, it has been observed that the number of teaching faculty in India is decreasing every year. All of these factors lead to a shortage of good quality teachers
During the time of Admissions, a well laid out plan to counsel the students is the foremost need. The counselling not only assist the students in understanding the structures of various courses offered but also helps them in opting for the course which suits their ambitions perfectly. Due to the lack of counselling, students these days either opt for courses that offers high paying jobs after graduation or under peer pressure.
