The New Education Policy which was officially introduced on 29th July 2020, strongly emphasized the multi-disciplinary learning, teaching, and research. The policy was officially introduced in the country last month but many institutions in Rajasthan are already following a multi-disciplinary way of learning.
The introduction of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, after three decades has been one of the biggest highlights in the Indian education industry. It is a comprehensive policy that emphasises universities’ multidisciplinary & multimode approaches, and education backed by technology. The new NEP has completely altered the administrative structure of the educational system in India. It focuses on character and skill development in order to help students succeed in life.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank conferred that under New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the universities will be allowed to affiliate only 300 colleges, not more than that. This decision will provide more self-governance and transparency to colleges. He also mentioned that the affiliation system of the colleges will be phased out. The education minister made the statement while addressing a virtual session on “Education Post COVID-19”.
