Let’s Get To Know Mr. Kanwar Preet Singh!!
This time we got a wonderful opportunity to have an insightful conversation with Mr. Kanwar Preet Singh, BDM, Prione Business Service Pvt. Ltd.
To commence the conversation we asked him about his journey to which he said that he did his graduation from NIT, Surat in B. Tech (Mechanical Engineering ) but when it came to the job he took it in the domain of Data Analytics in Sigma Inc.
After gaining some experience Mr. Singh did an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from MDU, Gurugram. Post-MBA he got an opportunity to work in the FMCG sector in Tolaram. Kanwar worked in two positions with the organization, one was Area Sales Manager and then he got promoted as Branch Manager and now he is finally working with Prione as their Business Development Manager.
What Are Things That Business Development Unit Is Looking For In A College Pass Out?
We asked Kanwar Preet about the skills than an optimum candidate should possess in order to get a good job in the domain of Business Development to which he replied that companies basically look for people who are ambitious, great at interacting and good at taking care of people’s conflict
He further added that technical skills that the organizations look for consist of awareness about making plans & strategies. The individual should know how to track the competition, s/he should be good in market research and should be tech-savvy. Also, they should know their way around PowerPoint and Excel.
A Word About Higher Education From The Industry
When the Eduvoice team asked Mr. Singh about the relevancy of the things taught in Higher Education to the Industries, he replied that he thinks 50 to 60 percent of what he was taught comes in use.
In his graduation period, Mr. Singh learned majorly about technical things that do not come in use but the way he learned those things comes in handy. Also, the things that were taught to him in post-graduation still come in handy as they were specific and practical based.
We then asked him about what he feels about the current Education System to which he said,
“ The current education system needs an upgrade but mostly I feel they give incomplete knowledge i.e. they don’t cover the full sphere of any specific topic.”
He explained it by quoting an example of Digital Marketing by saying that we all know that Digital Marketing is the future of Marketing but still the Education System is not educating the students about all its parameters.
Lastly, he added that he feels things are changing but not that rapidly.
Mr. Singh’s Say On Eduvoice And It’s Initiative.
Mr. Kanwar Preet Singh appreciated Eduvoice’s initiative to improve the Educational sector as he also believes that it needs a little bit of upgradation. He also said that the initiative will lessen the gap between the Industrial Sector and the Educational Sector and will create more corporate leaders.
One thing that we concluded after listening to Mr. Kanwar was that
“Success is not achieved immediately; one really has to work hard for it.”
