More Armor To Cyber Security Education with Saint Peter’s University

With internet’s penetration going deep, its security measures cannot be overlooked as it is being threatened from all corners, day in and day out. And only experts can deal with this situation for which their demand has been increasing in all sectors. In its endeavor to armor aspirants, who wish to deal with this situation, Saint Peter’s University in New Jersey has planned to introduce a Masters of Science degree programme in Cyber Security. Saint Peter’s University in New Jersey has planned to introduce a Masters of Science degree programme in Cyber Security. Through this programme,  students will brace themselves with the advanced skills which will help them in protecting and defending information systems from possible cyber-attacks.

The focus areas of this high end programme will be information systems security, assurance, cyber security and computer forensics. The 30-credit hour master’s degree program in cyber security will enrich students theoretically and practically which will make it easy for the students to understand cyber security threats and vulnerabilities, and to be able to defend computer systems against cyber-attacks. The programme has been designed especially for working professionals and/or students with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, business or criminal justice. It includes the following courses: Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing, Malware Analysis and Defense, Cyber Crime Investigation & Digital Forensics, Disaster Recovery and more for which applications are being accepted from February 2017.

PETER’S UNIVERSITY IN NEW JERSEY OFFERS MASTER DEGREE

The introduction of a Master of Science in Cyber Security will further strengthen Saint Peter’s University aim train and educate students on this very important national initiative, with the already established undergraduate programme in cyber security.,said Mr. Edward Moskal, Director of the master’s programme in cyber security at Saint Peter’s University.

Apart from this initiative, Saint Peter’s University is looking into the opening of an on-campus Cyber Security Center which has been designed in collaboration with the National Cyber Security Center of Excellence, located in Rockville, Maryland. This will give the learners ample opportunities for hands-on learning the risk across multiple platforms and strategize defensive actions from new and existing cyber threats. Students will also have access software/tools that can be used to protect the cyber environment of an organization. Students will also have access to state-of-the-art technology including Apache: Virtual Computing Lab, CISCO Virtual Labs and Network Simulator, SANSForensics Investigative Toolkit Workstation, Department of Homeland Security Cyber Security Evaluation Tool Kit and much more.
