Higher education minister Arun Kumar Sahoo on Thursday said that chosen agents including local MLAs won’t be remembered for the administering group of degree colleges in the state. Rather than MLAs, educationists or specialists having involvement with overseeing educational institutions will be delegated in the college body.
Sahoo said this while tending to a state-level show on ‘Role of guardians in higher education’ assembled by Odisha Abhibhabak Mahasangha here on Thursday. “No chosen agents will be in the administering body of the degree colleges. Guardians, academicians or people having involvement with overseeing educational institutions will be remembered for the college body,” he included.
Sahoo said the government will give the notice for this very soon. “Overseeing body of the colleges will be reinforced to acquire changes in the administration of colleges. We are setting up the criteria for this,” he included.
Directly, the degree colleges have to administer bodies with MLAs as their individuals. It is claimed that some political pioneers make an issue for the colleges while taking any choice.
Educationist Surya Narayan Mishra invited the declaration of the minister to stop chose delegates to go into the college administering the body. “This choice ought to be passed in the state bureau for usage.
