Gujarat: Vice-President Speaks On Higher Education

Vice-President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar had presided over an event, ‘Excellence in Higher Education organized by Gujarat Education Department and Gujarat National Law University (GNLU).

Governor Acharya Devvrat, CM Bhupendra Patel, and Education Minister Jitu Vaghani graced the event that highlighted Gujarat as an education hub.

The Vice-President had felicitated a few startups/entrepreneurs from the fields of legal and environment domains apart from recently recruited judges of the state judiciary, officials in the education department said. He had e-dedicate and laid foundation stones for various projects and also launched the Centre of Excellence in Drone Technology at the Institute of Infrastructure Technology Research and Management (IITRAM) Ahmedabad during this occasion.

The Vice-President had also launched Wi-Fi enabled initiative apart from the disbursement of grants under the SSIP 2.0 Scholarship to beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana (MYSY).

Describing the Excellence in Higher Education programme as a day of pride for Gujarat, Governor Acharya Devvrat said that as a result of the visionary planning of the then Chief Minister and PM Narendra Modi, today Gujarat has achieved new steps in all fields.

The Governor added that while India is becoming a country of youth today, PM Modi has given life to the youth through the mantra of innovative initiatives like Make in India, Digital India, and Startup India, which has been accepted by the entire world today so that the country can grow rapidly in the current age of technology and under the guidance of the Prime Minister in Gujarat, the campaign of natural farming has been taken up by the Agriculture Department under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel as a mass movement, which will give a new path to the country in the coming days.

The Education Minister Jitubhai Vaghani said, at present, 103 universities and more than 3000 colleges are functional in the state in which the best higher and technical education is being imparted to the students coming not only from the state but also from the country and abroad, added that under the guidance of The CM Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat has prepared a special roadmap for the speedy implementation of the New Education Policy, which is a long-sighted step for the revolution in the education sector of the country, PM Narendra Modi and Gujarat is also a pioneer in that direction.
