Free Online Certificate Courses: SWAYAM 2023: Free online certificate courses in India by the Government

In India, the government has also initiated many online certification programmes for students and working professionals. The good thing about these courses is they are free of cost. The government does not charge you for learning.
These certificates are a great way to add to your resume. IT offers the flexibility to study on your own. You have short courses lasting for a couple of weeks and you can plan the pace of our study accordingly. Another benefit of online learning is accessibility. The free online courses offered by the Government of India are prepared and taught by elite professors of this country. You can get lessons from the IIT-Bombay professor while sitting at your home.
SWAYAM
Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) is a government of India initiative to promote online education and increase the accessibility of quality education to students who cannot afford classroom-based courses. It has courses from Class 9 till post-graduation across diverse fields. The courses are prepared and taught by the topmost faculty of the country free of cost.
SWAYAM courses are designed in a holistic manner where students get the video lecture, e-content, weekly assignments and discussion forums where they can clear their doubts. There are a total of nine National Coordinators who prepare and provide the certification on the SWAYAM platform.
1. AICTE
All India Council for Technical Education is currently running 177 courses with around 11 lakh students enrolled. AICTE is responsible for planning, formulation and maintenance of guidelines and standards for technical education in India.
2. NPTEL
The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning is an initiative launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The project was initiated by seven India Institutes of Technology (IITs) – Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati, and Roorkee. Currently, NPTEL has 665 courses with over 24 lakh students enrolled.
3. UGC
University Grants Commission is the regulatory authority and is responsible for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India. On SWAYAM, it has 4 courses running with around 11 thousand students.
4. CEC
The Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) was established in 1991 with the aim to provide higher education through powerful media like Television along with Information Communication Technology (ICT). CEC currently has 143 courses available on SWAYAM with over 4 lakh students.
5. NCERT
The National Council of Educational Research and Training assists and advises the Central and State Governments on policies and programs related to school education. It has 28 ongoing courses on SWAYAM with over 21 thousand enrollments.
6. NIOS
The National Institute of Open Schooling provides Secondary (10th), Sr.Secondary (12th), and Vocational courses through open and distance learning(ODL) mode. Currently, it offers 45 courses with around 7 thousand enrollments.
7. IGNOU
The Indira Gandhi National Open University offers high-quality teaching through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. IGNOU has 191 courses on SWAYAM, with 1.9 lakh students enrolled.
8. IIMB
The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is one of the leading management education institutes in Asia. It is the first management school in India to offer massive open online courses (MOOCs). Currently, it has 26 courses on SWAYAM with more than 3 lakh students.
9. NITTTR
The National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research was established with the aim to improve the quality of the Engineering Education system in India and in the Southern Region in particular. Today, it enrolls about 96 thousand students across 21 courses on SWAYAM.
