Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements Rankings 2020

The Vice-President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu, on Tuesday announced the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements 2020. ARIIA is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE).

The Vice-President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu, on Tuesday announced the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) 2020. This year Indian Institute of Madras (IIT Madras) which is a centrally funded institution has again attained the 1st position in the category of best central funded institutions. In the category of private institutions Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Odisha has attained the 1st position.

For the very first time in Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA), 2020 had a special prize for the women-only higher educational institutions.

Parameters of ARIIA Rankings

The ranking of ARIIA 2020 has been evaluated on seven parameters which are as follows:

  1. Budget and funding support, infrastructure and facilities,
  2. Awareness, promotions, and support for idea generation and innovation,
  3. Promotion and support for entrepreneurship development,
  4. Innovative learning methods and courses,
  5. Intellectual property generation,
  6. Technology transfer and commercialization and
  7. Innovation in the governance of the institution.

  4. IISc Bangalore

ARIIA is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE). It is being implemented by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Ministry’s Innovation Cell, Government of India.

The main objective of ARIIA 2020 is to provide rankings to the higher education institutions and universities in India as per Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Startup, and Development amongst faculty and students.
