The women-only higher educational institutions were separately ranked separately under a special category. The rankings were implemented by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Education Ministry’s Innovation Cell.

The Vice-President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu, on Tuesday announced the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) 2020. This year Indian Institute of Madras (IIT Madras) which is a centrally funded institution has again attained the 1st position in the category of best central funded institutions.
