According to the UGC’s guidelines, the classes for the odd semester are likely to resume from 18th November. The universities will hold classes for 6 days a week for this semester to make up for the academic loss due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The University Grants Commission released an official notice on its official website regarding the resumption of classes for all the affiliated colleges and universities. According to the UGC’s guidelines, the classes for the odd semester are likely to resume from 18th November.
Earlier UGC informed all the affiliated universities that the classes for all the students for the academic session 2020-2021 will most likely start in November. The UGC also asked the institutes to complete the admission process for the session 2020-21 by 31st October.
UGC in its official notification stated “It has been instructed by UGC that all universities must start their classes from November 1 if the admission process is complete by October 30. If there is a delay in the admission process, colleges can start the classes from November 18”.
As per the guidelines of UGC, the universities will hold classes for 6 days a week for this semester to make up for the academic loss due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Blended Mode of Teaching- Classes For Odd Semester
Although the classes for the odd semesters are most likely to begin from 18th November, considering the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation the classes can be held in the blended mode for this semester.
UGC has allowed the universities to hold the classes either online, offline, or in a blended mode for this semester as per the convenience of the students and teachers. Also in case of cancellation of admission, the universities will have to refund the full fees.
In order to cut the further loss of students and faculty, UGC has also instructed the universities to complete the merit-based admissions in all the affiliated colleges by 31st October.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak the universities, colleges, and higher education institutions have been closed since March. To reduce the spread of infection, online classes and exams are being conducted.
