    Under this new partnership, Zell education will have integrated courses with ACCA certification for students pursuing their MBA and BCom from Chitkara University

    Zell Education, India’s finance and accounts edtech platform has recently partnered with Chitkara University based in Rajpura, Punjab to offer MBA-ACCA online and BCom-ACCA offline integrated courses for its students. The MoU was signed between Anant Bengani, Co-Founder and Director, Zell Education and Dr Sandhir Sharma, Professor and Vice Chancellor, Chitkara University.

    Under this new partnership, Zell education will have integrated courses with ACCA certification for students pursuing their MBA and BCom from Chitkara University. The platform will also launch an MBA in International Finance & Accounting (MBA+ACCA) soon, allowing university students to earn both (MBA & ACCA) in 2 years as they will be eligible for exemptions in ACCA. Starting from the June 2023 cohort, students can complete ACCA with certain paper exemptions to fast-track certification while finishing their MBA/B.Com.

    The ACCA Qualification is accounting certification for future financial professionals. It equips students with relevant abilities, know-how and principles to succeed in the workplace. The collaboration aims to equip students with industry-ready certifications along with their university degrees.

  • Smart India Hackathon 2022 at Chitkara University Concludes

    Smart India Hackathon 2022 at Chitkara University Concludes

    The grand finale of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) held at Chitkara University in collaboration with the Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education and Government of India concluded today. Chitkara University was selected as the nodal center for this 5-day-long Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022 Hardware Edition.

    SIH is a nationwide initiative by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell to provide students with a platform to solve the pressing problems of the government, ministries, departments, industries, and other organizations. As part of AzadikaAmritMahotsav celebrations, the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and All India Council for Technical Education identified 75 higher educational institutes as nodal centers to host the SIH.

    Shri Kamal Kishor Yadav, IAS – Director (Information and Public relation) presided over the valedictory event as Chief guest and was accompanied by Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor, Chitkara University, as the guest of honor. Mr. Nitin Kumar, appointed as Nodal Centre Head from the Ministry of Education`s Innovation Cell was also present with the dignitaries.

    Over 5 days, the 14 teams competed in 3 problem statements given by Ministry of Home Affairs. Through daily rigorous judging, the judges selected 4 winners from 3 problem statements. The winning teams are awarded INR 1,00,000/- each and 2 teams jointly shared this prize money.

    The winning teams are

    • Team Sky Strikers from Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Navi Mumbai
    • Team Dronacharya Yantramanav from Prathyusha Engineering College, Thiruvallur
    • Joint Winners – Team ECE Allrounders from Vasavi college of engineering, Hyderabad & Team Jarvis Group from KLE Technological University, Hubballi

    This year, was also SIH Junior introduced to school students to build a culture of Innovation and problem-solving attitude at the school level. In SIH Junior 2022, Team Pix Fuser from St. John`s High School Chandigarh and Team BCM Arya from BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, were felicitated during the ceremony.

    Acclaimed as the world’s biggest open innovation model, SIH inculcates the culture of product innovation and problem-solving among students. It has been conducted each year since 2017 in two formats- SIH Software and SIH Hardware Editions for higher education students. Every year SIH is impacting lakhs of students and provides them a national platform to test their educational learnings in real-world problem-solving. It also aligns their interest toward Innovation and entrepreneurship.

    On the occasion, Dr. Madhu Chitkara congratulated the winners and lauded the efforts of the organizing team headed by Dr. Sachin Ahuja – Director of Research, CURIN, and Mr.Varinder Singh – Project Manager, CURIN.
