Somaiya Vidyavihar University Collaborates With Preah Sihanouk R ja Buddhist University

Both organisations would collaborate and coordinate in promoting research, disseminating knowledge and capacity building

Preah Sihanouk Rāja Buddhist University (SBU), Cambodia and Somaiya Vidyavihar University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with the purpose of creating an academic platform for young students and faculty and to develop the capacity to support the overall development of a quality and modern system of education. The activities covered by the MoU include conducting cross-institutional research, faculty exchanges and special projects in various disciplines.

Preah Sihanouk Rāja Buddhist University expressed gratitude to the Embassy of India and Somaiya Vidyavihar University for their initiative in signing the MoU and stated that the cooperation would benefit young Buddhist Monks, students and staff in their learning and research. In his remarks, Dr Nandkumar Gilke, Registrar, Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai, emphasised that the purpose of the MoU is to strengthen the bonds between the two institutions, further their academic, social & cultural objectives, and promote collaboration among faculty, staff, students and academicians.

Both organisations would collaborate and coordinate in promoting research, disseminating knowledge and capacity building. This MoU would create favourable conditions for students to study and contribute to the community while preparing for future careers and Somaiya Vidyavihar University also offered online courses in English language, Pali and Sanskrit, as well as scholarships and summer camp workshops for students in various fields.
