PM Announced To Set Up National Assessment Center, PARAKH Under NEP 2020

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to establish a National Assessment Center ‘PARAKH’ for overall improvement in the evaluation system under NEP 2020.

On 11th September while addressing the conclave on ‘School Education in 21st Century’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to establish a National Assessment Center, PARAKH.
PARAKH stands for Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development. PM Narendra Modi said the National Assessment Center will be established to improve the overall evaluation system. He also emphasized on providing quality and industry-related education. He mentioned that when education is imparted in relation to the surrounding environment, the student can develop practical knowledge.

The Prime Minister said that “The National education policy also addresses another big issue, mark sheet driven education dominating in place of learning-driven education in our country. He said, a new National Assessment Center “Parakh” will also be established for the overall improvement of the evaluation system”.

NEP 2020 To Give Direction To New India

A National Assessment Centre, PARAKH (which stands for Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development) to be set up as a standard-setting body for all recognized school boards under National Education Policy 2020.

Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said, “The new National Education Policy focuses on the overall development of students with scientific temperament”. He also conferred that this will also help in developing strong intellect in students. 

The government has asserted that “The new NEP aims at making the country an equitable and vibrant knowledge society. It envisions an India-centred education system that will contribute directly to transforming the country into a global superpower”.

Prime Minister while addressing the conclave claimed that the New Education Policy 2020 is aimed at achieving the aspirations, expectations, and requirements of new India. He further added that the new National Education Policy will provide direction to 21st century India.
