UPES tops the list so far
These days mark the achievements of institutions, pushing them to a different stature of ‘perception’. This is the word pondered upon when admission drives are on. The ‘placement’ fever is here. Admission drives, perception, stature and success of an institution is placed on ‘placement’. So, in the season of layoffs, how are the institutions scoring in placement?
Placement Highlights at UPES
1. Placed 1,447 students and 1527 got offers.
2. More than 325 domestic and international companies offered career opportunities to UPES students this year.
3. Leading names include IBM, Infosys, KPIT, Nestle, Philip Carbon Black Limited, Shell, Sony, Tech Mahindra, Weatherford Drilling International besides many large business houses like Adanis, Birlas, Reliance, L&T, Tatas etc.
4. Overall, 91% of graduates (who were eligible and opted for placements) were placed with the highest package of INR 29.76 lakhs.
5) 56% of these recruiters were first timers at UPES

Second Topmost Placement
Far east in West Bengal, the first batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) competes no less. This diploma is jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur and ISI Kolkata. And it recently concluded final placement for the 1st batch (2015-2017) witnessed participation from 38 companies. This included Fortune 500 companies like American Express, Walmart Labs, PwC, MasterCard, JPMC.
The inaugural batch was offered an average annual compensation package of Rs. 17.14 lakh. The highest was Rs.20.14 lakh per annum by the domestic recruiters. International recruiters offered average annual compensation package of Rs.18.07 lakh. The highest here was Rs. 21.78.
