Hyderabad:

The Telangana intermediate results were released on Tuesday and a combined pass percentage was 62.57% of first and second-year students combined. Of the 9,48,153 students who appeared for the exams held in the month of March, a total of 5,93,291 were declared passed by the board. The results were announced by the education minister, Sabitha Indra Reddy.
A comparative analysis of results from that of the previous year shows that the pass percentage this year has dropped marginally. While 2022 had a pass percentage of 65.06%, in 2023 it fell to 62.57%.
One of the main reasons for the drop in pass percentage is the return to the old question paper model of fewer choice-based questions and full syllabus being asked this year as compared to only 70% of the syllabus being asked the previous year.
A further analysis shows that girls have performed better than boys as of the 4,71,631 female students who appeared, 3,30,592 have passed giving a pass percentage of 70.09%. Among male students, the pass percentage was only 55.12%.
