Over 16K govt teachers’ in UP benefit from inter-district transfers


LUCKNOW: Over 16,600 primary and upper primary teachers of state-run schools in UP were transferred either to their home/preferred districts on Monday.
According to a press statement issued by the government, 45,914 applications were received from teachers seeking transfers to different districts on the online portal developed by NIC. After due verification and points earned by the teachers, list of 16,614 names were declared on Monday.
Of this, 12,267 are female while 4,337 are male teachers. A total of 1,141 teachers diagnosed with serious ailments or incurable diseases were sent to districts of their choice. In addition, 1,122 teachers with any kind of disability and 393 teachers who are single parents were transferred.
A total of 42,977 transfers have been done so far, said a government spokesperson. In the 2019-20 academic session, 26,563 transfers took place while in the 2023-24 session 16,614 teachers have been sent to the districts of their choice.
Unfit applications were rejected by the BSAs. Documents of teachers who have been transferred will be further verified. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against teachers forging documents for transfer. Their transfer will be cancelled, stated the press release.
