Raipur: Girls outshined boys in the high school and higher secondary examinations of Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE), the results of which were declared by state education minister Prem Sai Singh Tekkam on Wednesday.
83.64% of girls passed the examination while 75.36 % of boys cleared the Higher Secondary examination, according to the CGBSE.
Vidhi Bhosale student of standard 12th, daughter of Basudev Bhosale and Chandrakanti Bhosale of Abhinav Vidya Mandir Higher Secondary School, Pussore of Raigarh district outperformed all others to secure the first position in the state with 98.20 percentage.
The second position was secured by Vivek Agrawal, son of Ramavtar Agrawal, and Mamta Agrawal of Janjgir-Champa securing 97.40 percent. A total of 30 students this year have acquired their positions in the top 10 list.
The passing percentage of class 12th exams this year is 79.96 per cent, where girls excelled over boys at 83.64 per cent in comparison to boys at 75.36 per cent.
In class 12th, a total of 29.96 per cent of students have passed in the first division category, 45.15 per cent of candidates have cleared in the second division category and 7.85 per cent of students have cleared in the third division category.
Besides, Rahul Yadav student of class 10th, son of Rameshwar Yadav, and Kaushalya Yadav of Swami Atmanand Hindi Medium School of tribal Jaspur district ranked first with 98.83 per cent across the state. The second position was secured by Sikandar Yadav son of Shiv Balak Rai and Meena Devi hailing from Jashpur district.
A total of 48 secondary education students this year have attained their positions in the top 10 list.
Passing percentage of secondary education is 75.05 percent this year, where girls outperformed boys at 79.16 percent while the percentage of boys was 70.26 percent. A total of 33.30 percent of students passed with the first division, 36.32 percent of candidates cleared with the second division while 5.43 percent of students cleared their class 10th with the third division.
A total of 3,28,121 students registered for the Higher secondary school examination this year. Of these, 3,23,625 candidates appeared in the examination. A total of 1,43,919 boys students and 1,79,706 girl students appeared for the Board exam.
Meanwhile, 3,37,569 candidates registered for the High school examination this year. Of these, 3,30,681 candidates appeared in the examination including 1,52,891 boys students and 1,77,790 girl students.
