PRAYAGRAJ: Students and their parents, who have appeared for the board exams of class XII and X from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), this year, were taken for a ride on Wednesday afternoon when the WhatsApp group of several teachers, students and parents received a letter stating that the results of class XII and X of CBSE board would be declared on May 11.
The letter, which was later declared as fake by the CBSE authorities, was bearing the fake signature of director (academics), CBSE, Joseph Emmanuel.
Highly placed source at CBSE says that the results of class 12 and 10 are in the final stage of getting prepared and is expected to be declared this week.
“CBSE never declares the date of announcing the results in advance. But we would like to tell that the process of preparing the results of both the classes is in the final stage and CBSE will be announcing the results very soon”, said regional officer (RO), CBSE, Prayagraj, Lalit K Kapil.
The fake letter, which went viral within minutes of being posted on Whatsapp, took the CBSE officials too for a ride because the schools, affiliated to CBSE, started calling and asking them for the acknowledgment of the so-called letter. Be it students, teachers and principal of the schools, the letter quickly started making rounds on the WhatsApp group.
The letter also mentioned the website where the results can be check their results.
However, CBSE on its part was also quick enough to announce that this letter was a fake one.
Worth mentioning that such a fake letter was circulated in the year 2020 when the CBSE had to issue a clarification terming the then letter as fake. The earlier fake letter of 2020 was bearing the fake signature of secretary CBSE, Anurag Tripathi.
