The government of Uttarakhand will appoint Narendra Singh Bhandari as the Vice-Chancellor of Soban Singh Jeena University, Almora. He will be the first VC of the Soban Singh Jeena University, Almora.
The government of Uttarakhand will appoint Narendra Singh Bhandari as the Vice-Chancellor of Soban Singh Jeena University, Almora. Coincidentally, Narendra Singh Bhandari is going to be the first vice-chancellor of the newly established University of Uttrakhand.
Earlier a three-member committee was formed by the government. The committee was to give suggestions to the Uttrakhand’s State government regarding the appointment of the vice-chancellor for the Soban Singh Jeena University. The committee has suggested the name of the Narendra Singh Bhandari for the post of the vice-chancellor.
About Narendra Singh Bhandari
Narendra Singh Bhandari presently is a member of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, Haridwar. His appointment is made for a period of three years or till 65 years of age.
He belongs to Naini Saini in the Pithoragarh district of Uttrakhand. Narendra Bhandari has done his graduation and post-graduation in Chemistry from Pithoragarh.
He has done his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. Also, he was appointed as the Professor of Chemistry at Kumaon University in the year 1988. He has published 42 research papers and authored five books. His eight students were awarded Ph.D.
It is important to mention that Soban Singh Jeena University would be a residential university. All the regular degree and PG colleges of Pithoragarh, Bageshwar and Champawat districts would be affiliated to it.
Also, the government of Uttrakhand gave the additional charge of Director to Dr. Yatindra Singh Rawat of the Ayurveda and Yunani services. Presently, Dr. Yatindra Singh Rawat is the joint director of the department.
