The colleges in Karnataka will be reopening from January 15 with regular offline classes for all students, as per the directives of the state government.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Higher Education Dr. C N Ashwath Narayan said on Monday that the colleges are reopening for all students of undergraduate, postgraduate, engineering, and diploma courses in the state.
The final year offline classes are already underway successfully. The classes of first, second, and third-year students will start from January 15,” Mr. Narayan told reporters after chairing a meeting with the officials, as per PTI reports.

The Karnataka government had already resumed the classes for final year students in the state with several Covid-19 safety guidelines. The colleges in Karnataka are resuming normal functioning after nearly 10 months of being shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Guidelines for reopening colleges in Karnataka
Apart from the decision to reopen the colleges in the state, the Karnataka government has also decided to reopen the hostels for students. Along with this, the bus service will also resume in the state to help citizens travel with ease.
The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that all the preparations have been made as the standard operating procedure laid out by the Centre to contain the spread of Covid-19.
While talking about the Covid-19 guidelines in colleges, the minister further added, “There will be Covid-19 screening, sanitizers, the mandatory wearing of face mask and social distancing in place at all the colleges.”Narayan said the government has already decided to hold offline examinations or the conventional way of conducting examinations this year and necessary directions have been given to the colleges and the universities about it.
