Jamia Hamdard launches innovative centre for training and development

NEW DELHI: Jamia Hamdard has partnered with Panasonic India to launch a new Centre for Training and Development. The Centre aims to provide practical and relevant training programmes to help participants enhance their skills and keep up with the fast-changing world. To mark the occasion, the centre organised a three-day workshop titled “Behind the Lens,” which was attended by distinguished professionals and dignitaries.
In his valedictory address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam emphasised the importance of lifelong learning and the pursuit of excellence. He highlighted that the collaboration between Jamia Hamdard and Panasonic India showcases a commitment to providing practical and relevant training programmes that will help participants succeed in their future endeavours. He emphasized that this initiative will undoubtedly benefit students, professionals, and the industry as a whole by bridging the gap between academia and industry requirements.
The event’s Chief Guest, Mr. Hardeep Singh Sarna, Business Chief of Imaging Business India and SAARC, emphasized the crucial contribution of photographers to society’s well-being and expressed his unwavering support for Jamia Hamdard. The Centre’s Chairperson, Prof. (Dr.) Reshma Nasreen, welcomed and felicitated the guests, highlighting the Centre’s focus on providing cutting-edge skills and training.

Prof. Farhat Basir Khan, a distinguished expert in Communication, photography, and filmmaking, expressed his appreciation to Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam for his visionary leadership in establishing the Centre. Prof. Farhat Basir Khan also shared his knowledge on the latest advancements in photography and emphasized the crucial role of visual storytelling.
Mr. Sarthak Sawhney, an accomplished marketing manager from Panasonic India and esteemed guest of honour acknowledged Prof. Farhat Basir Khan as a pioneering mentor and the father of modern photography and electronic media education in India. Hitesh Vig, Guest of honour praised Prof. Farhat Basir Khan for his pioneering contributions to mass communication and design education in India. the honorary director of the centre, Dr. Syeedun Nisa expressed gratitude to dignitaries and staff for gracing and organizing the workshop
The workshop included lectures and practical sessions on commercial, fashion, and social media photography, as well as filmmaking. The participants had the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and develop their skills in these areas. The final day of the workshop was particularly productive, with participants doing a commercial shoot under the guidance of Mr. Pushkar Hans.
