Holy Hill Heritage Festival 2023 in Goa on April 22 and 23


Panaji: The Museum of Christian Art (MoCA) is hosting the Holy Hill Heritage Festival 2023 in collaboration with the Goa heritage action group (GHAG) and INTACH Goa Chapter on April 22 and 23.
The festival will be spread across two days with various activities centered around Goa’s food heritage, especially the tradition of purument which was a popular mini pop-up market held at this time of year, among other events.
On April 22, a heritage walk will be held to the Convent of Santa Monica and St Augustine’s Monastery at 9am. The purument traditional market will be spread out from 10am to 6pm in tandem with a pop-up café.
Heritage hour sessions will feature a talk on feasts and festivals by Maria Lourdes Bravo da Costa at 11.15am and on markets of Goa by Assavari Kulkarni at 12.30pm. The day will culminate with the film screening of Bread and Belonging at 6pm.
On April 23, a heritage walk retracing Monte Santo will kickstart at 9am. This will be followed by a heritage hour session on traditional Goan musical instruments by Sameer Kapadi at 11.15 am. A ticketed workshop on Kaavi art by Sagar Naik Mule will be held at 12.30 pm. The event will conclude with the film screening of Saxtticho Koddo at 5pm.
