Delhi University postpones final year exams

Attention students, Delhi University has postponed the upcoming final year exams for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students. Amid the Covid-19 surge, the university has decided to postpone the final year exams to June 1. DU had earlier scheduled the final year exams to begin in May. Now, the university will commence the examination after June 1.

D.S. Rawat, DU’s Dean of Examination told The Hindu, “A meeting was held on Saturday with all the heads of departments and Deans. The meeting was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor and it was decided that the examinations for the final-year students will be postponed to June 1. A notification regarding the same will be issued on Monday.”

Further, the officials have added that the examination will be held in online mode, just like last year. Delhi University will soon make the decision regarding other batches.

DUTA Demands Cancellation of Exams


The Delhi University Teachers Association, DUTA, has previously written to the Vice-Chancellor, stating that students and teachers are not mentally and physically prepared to continue teaching-learning and called for the cancellation of exams and suspension of classes.

Further, teachers and students have also raised concerns regarding the conduct of exams in the middle of rising Covid-19 cases in the country.

Delhi University is yet to take the decision regarding the examination for first and second-year students. Further, the final datasheet is yet to be released for the Final year students. Students are requested to keep an eye on the official website of DU, i.e., du.ac.in for any update regarding the examination.
