AP is role-model for other states in Education & health sectors: World Bank India Director


Amaravati: Showering praises on AP government, World Bank Country Director for India, Auguste Tano Kouame has observed that the reforms initiated in education and health sectors will make AP a role-model for the other states. He said that the World Bank will extend its fullest support to the state government as the innovative programmes taken up in the education and health sector will ultimately help growth in the human development index. He said that he was amazed with the children enjoying their studies in the newly created infrastructure and also the nutritious mid-day meal.
World Bank country director Auguste Tano Kouame visited Zill Parishad High school in Venigandla village in Guntur district on Tuesday. School education commissioner S Suresh Kumar, district collector M Venugopala Reddy accompanied Kouame during the visit. The World Bank director interacted with the school children on various aspects including the teaching methods, learning abilities and quality of the mid-day meal programme. “Felt extremely happy to see the children with amazing abilities and cheerfulness. I strongly believe that the children will definitely reach a pinnacle in the future if they continue their studies with the same spirit,” said Kouame. He appreciated the state government for its dedicated support to the school education and health sector.
He said the state government had created wonderful infrastructure in the public schools under the Nadu-Nedu project. He said that he had noticed that the staff in both education and health sectors render services with commitment. He said that it was a privilege for the World Bank to partner with the AP government’s health and education projects. He inspected the mid-day meal kitchen, science laboratory and ultra-modern toilets in the schools and appreciated the officials.
School education commissioner Suresh Kumar explained that they were providing a mid-day meal under Jagananna Gorumudda with a specified menu to provide nutritious food to the children. He said that they have added the Ragi Malt drink to the menu following the instructions of the chief minister.
Later, Auguste Tano Kouame tweeted lauding the reforms initiated by the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government. “Thank You AP CM YS Jagan for sharing your vision. At Vanukuru, Bhavanipuram and Venigandla, I witnessed first-hand the state government’s focus on health and education. Growth and higher public revenue will help Andhra sustain future investments in these sectors,” said Kouame. He promised to extend all possible help for the next 25 years in tune with the mission and vision of the Chief Minister.
