AP Half Day Schools: Andhra Pradesh schools to function half day from April 3


The Andhra Pradesh government has announced that schools in the state will function only half day from April 3, 2023. The decision was taken considering the hot weather in the state. The Minister of Education, Botsa Satyanarayana, made the announcement, stating that schools will function from 7.45 am to 12.30 pm.
This move is expected to benefit lakhs of students across the state who have been facing difficulties due to the heat wave. By reducing the school timings, the government hopes to minimize the exposure of students to the scorching sun and heat.
Apart from this, the class 10th examination is also scheduled to begin from April 3, 2023. The government has made special arrangements to ensure that the students appearing for the exam face no inconvenience. Students will be given free travel in RTC buses to reach their examination centres.
The exam will be conducted at 3449 centres across the state, with 6.69 lakh students expected to appear for the examination. The examination will be conducted from 9.30 AM to 12.45 PM, and officials like the Collector and RDO will inspect one centre every day to ensure that the exams are conducted smoothly.
Additionally, 800 flying squads have been formed to conduct surprise checks at examination centres to prevent malpractices during the exam. The government has taken several steps to ensure that the students have a fair and safe examination experience.
The decision to reduce school timings and provide free travel to students for their examinations showcases the commitment of the Andhra Pradesh government towards the welfare of its students.
