As a component of the sixth International Yoga Day commemorations, the world’s first yoga university outside India has been propelled in Los Angeles, offering programs that consolidate scientific principles and present-day research approaches to the ancient Indian act of yoga.
The Vivekananda Yoga University (VaYU) was mutually propelled on Tuesday by Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan and Chairperson of the Standing Committee on External Affairs P Chaudhary during a virtual occasion held at the Consulate General of India in New York.
Famous Indian yoga master Dr. H R Nagendra, Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (SVYASA) is the first Chairman of VaYU.
Addressing the virtual dispatch, Mr. Muraleedharan said Swami Vivekananda gave the message of the universal fraternity from the US and through the first of its sort yoga university outside India, the message of yoga will be broadcast from America to the world.
As the symbol of India’s way of life and legacy, yoga has become the means for solidarity and fraternity on the planet. Thanks to yoga, we can give the message of world harmony, he said, including that yoga provides mental parity and enthusiastic stability.
The occasion was together hosted by the Consulate General and Jaipur Foot USA Chairperson and establishing executive of VaYU Prem Bhandari.
In his message, Nagendra, notable as the yoga consultant to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Swami Vivekananda proclaimed the glory of the Indian yoga dimension to the world through his famous speech in Chicago in 1893.
Inspired by his teachings and the solutions he has given to address difficulties of the cutting edge period, we took up this whole process of carrying yoga into the scholarly dimension, he said.
