CHANDIGARH: Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, in collaboration with the faculty of performing arts and media, cultural club of the university, celebrated World Theatre Day.
Punjabi film actor Malkeet Rauni was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor of the University, Dr Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, of the university and RJ Sangmitra were special guests.
Malkeet Rauni shared his experiences of theatre and films with the students. He shared anecdotes from his life to inspire the youth to not to give up in difficult times. He added that cinema and theatre are two different streams and their acting patterns are also different but are interlinked. He compared acting to various roles we play in our life. He also interacted with students and answered their queries. Over 200 students attended the event.
Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President, DBU, speaking on the occasion underlined the importance of World Theatre Day which was celebrated to highlight the importance of theatre.
