Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has revised the dates of the Government Degree College (Screening) Examination-2017 due to the Lok Sabha elections 2019.
The Government Degree College (Screening) Exam is conducted by the UPPSC for recruiting lecturers in government degree colleges.
The state Commission decided to change the lecturer’s recruitment exam dates as the earlier date was coinciding with polling for the seventh phase of general elections 2019
Earlier the exam was scheduled to be conducted on May 19, however, as per the revised dates, the same examination will now be held on July 28.
The examination was to be held in examination centres in Lucknow and Allahabad.
“The seventh phase of the parliamentary elections will be held on May 19. Hence, the commission decided to revise the exam schedule,” said UPPSC examination controller, Anju Katiyar.
UPPSC secretary Jagdish, said, “Around 50,000 aspiring lecturers were to appear for the screening examination The exam schedule was declared before the announcement of election dates, so it had to be postponed,” he said.
