UGC to Offer 78 UG, 46 PG Courses Through SWAYAM Platform in January 2021

Indian, Global Institutions Could Soon Offer to Joint or Dual Degrees as UGC Finalising the Draft

UGC has recently announced that it will be offering 78 UG courses and 46 PG courses through the SWAYAM platform in January 2021.


The University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to offer over 100 online courses in January 2021 through the SWAYAM platform. Out of these courses, 78 will be undergraduate programs and 46 will be postgraduate programs.

The Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) will be made available for students by the University Grants Commission from the January semester in 2021 on the SWAYAM platform, with has been set up by the central government.

UGC stated that the courses offered by the commission will be of the non-engineering variety. The detailed list of courses can be checked on the official website ofUGC, UGC.ac.in, by students who are interested in enrolling for them from January 2021.

Students interested in enrolling for the courses can visit the official website of SWAYAM, swayam.gov.in, and read the official notification as well as the complete list of courses offered by the online platform.

Details of UGC courses 2021


As per the official notice released by UGC, a total of 78 UG and 46 PG Non-Engineering courses can be enrolled by candidates which are ready to be offered in January Semester 2021. The exams for the same will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The dates for the exams for SWAYAM MOOC courses have not been finalized yet, but the tentative dates for these courses are May 8 and 9, 2021. Students from any college or university which is affiliated with UGC can avail the benefits of these courses.

The SWAYAM MOOC online platform was launched by the Government of India and is one of the largest digital platforms offering free e-learning undergraduate and postgraduate courses. SWAYAM courses are available for free to students, but an examination fee is to be paid for the certificate.

UGC wrote in their notice, “These courses are beneficial for academic fraternity and, working professionals/ lifelong learners/ senior citizens/ homemakers, etc.”
