UGC & Education Ministry To Organize Webinars On NEP On Teachers’ Day

For the Teachers’ Day 2020 celebration the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Education Ministry will organize webinars on New Education Policy 2020 to create awareness.

The University Grants Commission and Education Ministry will organize webinars on several themes and initiatives recently implemented under the New Education Policy 2020 on the occasion of Teachers’ Day 2020 celebration. The University Grants Commission also mentioned that it will run social media campaigns which will be a part of its Teachers’ Day celebration 2020.

An official statement mentioned, “Since the teachers’ role is paramount in the life of students as a friend, mentor, and coach, the Ministry of Education and UGC plan to celebrate Teachers’ Day by organizing webinars on various themes and initiatives of NEP 2020 and create awareness among stakeholders”.

UGC conferred that as a part of the Teachers’ Day celebration on 5th September 2020 the Education Ministry and UGC have decided to run #ourteachersourheroes and #teachersfromindia campaigns on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms.

UGC Asked Institutions to Organize Programmes to Celebrate Teachers’ Day

UGC also asked the institutions, colleges, and universities to organize programmes to honor retired teachers who have made “significant contributions in the growth and development of students and the institution”. It also instructed the institutions that to conduct the programmes the institutions must follow the social distancing protocols or it can also be conducted through digital mode (i.e., via. video conferencing).

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has also asked the educational institutions to upload details of the webinars as well as the programmes held at the institutions for Teachers’ Day celebrations at the University Activity Monitoring Portal, ugc.ac.in/uamp.

On Teachers’ Day 2020, the Education Ministry will also confer the ‘National Award To Teachers’ in order to honor the finest teachers in the country.
