TimesPro and the Indian Institute of Technology Jammu have collaborated to launch the Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security for learners to strengthen and master their fundamentals in cyber security and get introduced to advanced concepts, tools, security processes, software, etc. while working on several projects to build an engaging career portfolio.
The 12-month Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security will help learners to identify cyber threats, gain insights into cybersecurity and risk management, data breaches, cloud and network security, design cyber security frameworks, and gain valued insights from academicians and industry experts. Professionals participating in the programme will learn subjects such as Mathematical Foundations and Introduction to Cryptography, Computer Networking Fundamentals, Operating Systems Fundamentals, Web Application and Network Security, Multimedia, and Digital Forensics, among others.
According to reports, by 2025, global cybercrime losses are projected to cost $10.5 trillion annually. Rapid digitalisation has increased the demand for cybersecurity professionals. The Indian market is expected to develop at a CAGR of 8.05 per cent to reach $3543.37 million by 2027. Indian Institute of Technology Jammu:
IIT Jammu is recognized as an “Institute of National Importance” under the “Institutes of Technology Act” of 1961. IIT is an autonomous public higher education Institute funded by the Government of India, and functions under the governance of the IIT Council. The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu was inaugurated on 6th August 2016, and welcomed the first batch of students into the campus in Paloura, Jammu. In the initial phases, the establishment of IIT Jammu was done under the mentorship of IIT Delhi.
In 2018, IIT Jammu shifted the primary operations to the Main Campus in Jagti, Nagrota. The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has provided land for the establishment of a permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Technology in Jammu, which consists of 400 acres. Currently the Phase 1 A of the main campus, spread across 25 acres, is operational. Phase 1 B and 1 C are undergoing construction. The main campus of the Institute is located on National Highway 44 and is about 15 kilometers from the Airport.
