    IIM Shillong Hosts Convocation Ceremony


    The ceremony witnessed the participation of 238 students, who received job offers from 63 recruiters

    IIM Shillong, hosted its 14th Annual Convocation on April 2, 2023, with 5 Doctoral Scholars conferred PhD degree, whereas 236 students from PGP-2021-23 batch (2 years full time residential programme), 43 students from PGPEX batch of 2022-23 (1 year full time residential programme), 16 students from PGPWE2020-22 and 47 students from PGPWE2021-23 batch where conferred with MBA degrees.

    The convocation ceremony witnessed the participation of 238 students, who received job offers from 63 recruiters across various fields, including Consulting & Strategy, Finance, General Management, Human Resources & Operations, IT & Analytics and Sales & Marketing. The gender makeup of the class was equally split, with 45 per cent females and 55 per cent males. With an average CTC of 26.96 LPA, median CTC 26.09 LPA and highest CTC of 71.30 LPA, the institute congratulated the graduating students of PGP batch for their achievements.

    The convocation ceremony concluded with a pledge by the graduating scholars and students led by respective programme chairs.

    IIM Shillong Conducts Leadership Summit


    IIM Shillong hosted Business Leadership Summit from 4 to 5 March 2023, with the theme ‘Youth, Managerial Competence, and National Growth’. The summit brought together business executives, entrepreneurs, policymakers and thought leaders to chart a new course for the development of businesses and the economy of the country.

    The summit featured speakers and panelists who shared their wealth of experience and insights on how youth can develop the necessary managerial competence to drive national growth. The keynote speakers were Dhruv Sharma, a lead economist at the World Bank and Dhuwarakha Sriram, Chief of Generation Unlimited, Youth Development and Partnerships with UNICEF India. Both speakers shared their thoughts on how businesses can leverage the potential of young people to drive innovation and growth.

    The summit is organised in partnership with Yuwaah, the India chapter of the Generation Unlimited initiative by UNICEF, aimed at preparing young people for the future of work. The partnership underscores the summit’s focus on the critical role that young people play in shaping the future of businesses and economies globally.
