The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2011 and has grown over the years into one of the finest centers of training in the field of civil engineering. The Department offers a four-year course leading to the Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and two-year courses leading to Master’s degree in three major specializations of civil engineering (viz., Structural Engineering, Energy and Environmental Engineering and Transportation Engineering) as well as PhD in Civil Engineering. The laboratories are equipped with excellent and advanced equipment and provide all required facilities for advanced research in specific fields of civil engineering like Geotechnical Engineering, Highway Engineering, Water resources Engineering, etc.
The department is known for its reputed faculty having expertise in diverse fields. It has built up a wide research potential. The faculties of Civil Engineering were qualified from various reputed institution across the country. The faculty of the department continues to strive loftier by exploring new frontiers of knowledge, imparting the latest technical knowledge to the students and conducting high quality of research. Outcome-based teaching is practiced in the department. It is worth mentioning that the faculty members of the our department are OBE certified from SWAYAM.
It is one of the proud moment that, Civil Engineering department have more than 1200 alumni till date. As the lab plays a vital role in the learning quality of the students. The department of civil engineering has the state of the art labs in various subdomains of civil engineering. The students are skilled in the latest software in our curriculum they are quite versant in software like AUTOCADD, STAAD PRO, Primeavera, etc. The Approach of students towards the study is more focused, since they use the advanced equipments (such as Total Station & GPS) and develop the practical skills required for the onset of their professional life as a graduate engineer.
The department has some best practices for enhancing the teaching-learning process like outcome-based education, research-based learning, and project-based learning. The Industrial Exposure, Industrial Visits to the students, Industrial Practical Trainings, Industry expert FDPs and student workshops are regularly organized to enhance the student learning and exposure of students of the industry. The civil engineering department have specially designed courses on soft-skills & personality development to make the students knowledgeable and job ready. The departmental faculty and students have jointly published research articles in reputed SCI, SCOPUS, and UGC care Journals. For the holistic development of the students, the department has a dedicated club called ‘GRACE’.
The department has various Industry and academic collaborations such as TICKKO institute of engineering and technology, CADD center, ISIE, Total nurture to carry out skill-based training and industry visits. The departmental faculty and students have been awarded in academics, sports, and other extra-curricular activities. The department continuously strives to impart the best education to its student and is marching towards excellence by continuous improvement in the teaching-learning process, infrastructure, and faculty resources.
