BENGALURU: Are you a writer or illustrator for children’s books? Here’s your chance to win a Rs six lakh fellowship announced by Neev Literature Festival (NLF) on Friday. The deadline is June 30, 2023.
The first of its kind fellowshop is to facilitate high-quality, richly detailed children’s books that authentically mirror Indian lives and experiences. Selected book creators will be supported with Rs 6 Lakh grant each for a period of one year for researching and writing their book. NLF Fellowships will provide mentorship and editorial support, ensure greater visibility, appreciation for well-crafted books and explore realistic routes to take these books global.
There is no restriction with regards to the genre – it could be a picture book, a graphic novel, a work of fiction, or non-fiction. The Fellowship is open to Indian citizens and residents who are persons of Indian origin, as per a release by the organisation.
A jury of Neev Trust Founder Kavita Gupta Sabharwal, Ameen Haque, Founder, Storywallahs, as well as the NLF Director Karthika Gopalakrishnan will assess the proposals and prepare a shortlist of eligible candidates.
Those shortlisted will be interviewed by a panel of NLF Fellowships jury members, eminent persons from the worlds of children’s writing and scholarship. Fellows will be announced in October 2023 during the Neev Literature Festival. Know more on www.neevliteraturefestival.org.
