Pokhriyal: India World’s Largest Democratic Educational Ecosystem

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that India is the world’s largest democratic educational ecosystem. Over 34 million children study here, more than the entire population of many countries.

He said so during a speech at a high-level ministerial meeting convened by UNESCO on Monday. He said that India has 1.1 lakhs of teachers and there are 10.5 lakhs of schools, 42,000 colleges, and 1,043 universities in India.

At least 10.5 lakhs of students from our (government) schools complete their enrollment each year. In India, 80.2 lakhs of graduate and undergraduate degrees are offered annually, and some 39,000 more receive a Ph.D.

During the UNESCO meeting, he also explained the strengths of the new education policy.

Nishank spoke with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and UNESCO education ministers about the country’s challenges and working on the strategy of not leaving students behind. He said: “Despite the remarkable size of India’s educational ecosystem, we have succeeded in ensuring that all children living in the most remote areas of the country continue to receive education during this pandemic. We have used radio, television, and technology digital to ensure that no child is deprived of an education. “

He also explained in detail the PM eVidya program launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

India believes in Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is a family) and if necessary set the curriculum in Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, our brothers, and sisters have the same high standards as our Indian schools, already know the Indian school system. He’s very good at math, science, technology, and humanities.

He said:
