On 2nd October, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the VAIBHAV Summit via video conferencing. The summit will be followed by online deliberation sessions starting from 3rd October to 30th October 2020 among researchers through webinar mode.
On 2nd October, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Vaishvik Bhartiya Vaigyanik (VAIBHAV) Summit through video conferencing. The VAIBHAV summit is being organized for the overseas and resident Indian researchers and academicians. The objective of the VAIBHAV summit is to bring all the overseas and Indian resident researchers under a common platform.
Earlier, on Thursday PM Modi tweeted, “Looking forward to tomorrow’s Vaibhav Summit, which brings together scientists as well as researchers from the Indian diaspora. Do join at 6:30 PM on 2nd October”.
At the event PM Modi said adding that “The need of the hour is to ensure more youngsters develop an interest in science, one must get well-versed with the science of history and the history of science”.
He further highlighted that “India’s call of an Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), includes a vision of global welfare. To realize this dream, I invite you all & seek your support”
About VAIBHAV Summit
Vaishwik Bharatiya Vaigyanik (VAIBHAV) Summit is a collaborative initiative by S&T and Academic Organisations of India to enable deliberations on thought processes, practices, and R&D culture with a problem-solving approach for well-defined objectives.
The VAIBHAV initiative aims to bring out the comprehensive roadmap to leverage the expertise and knowledge of global Indian researchers for solving emerging challenges. The summit will be followed by online month-long deliberation sessions starting from 3rd October to 30th October 2020 among researchers through webinar mode.
An official statement from the PM’s Office conferred, “The aim of the summit is to bring Indian-origin luminaries in academic institutes and research organizations across the world and resident counterparts on a single platform to debate upon collaboration mechanisms to strengthen academic and science and technology (S&T) base in India for global development.’’
The summit is organized by around 200 academic institutes and S&T departments, led by the Principal scientific advisor, Government of India.
While addressing the inaugural event Modi conferred “VAIBHAV summit celebrates science and innovation from India and the world”. He called the summit a true ‘Sangam’ or confluence of great minds.
