Panjab University polling in September, Student Party Alliances under a strict election process

Authorities from Panjab University have announced the schedules for the process of The Panjab University Campus Students Council (PUCSC), including the holding of rallies by student parties. One hour each has been allotted to every party for conducting the campaign rally on the campus according to the Lyngdoh guidelines and ending at 5 pm on 5 September.

 

According to Dean Students Welfare

Enamul Nahar, Dean Students Welfare (DSW), PU, said: “Fixed Slots for conducting rallies have been provided for the six parties, leaders have been asked to follow the guidelines of Lyngdoh strictly.” The first rally has been allowed at 10.30 am and the last will be at 3.30 pm, said Nahar.“Those students who don’t get their identity cards by the day of election will be allowed to vote after showing their fee receipt or letter from their respective department,” he said.

 

Campaign Rally Timings

According to Dean Students Welfare, no party will be allowed to carry out further campaigning on the campus or to conduct any kind of public meetings or play after 5 pm. “ Strict guidelines have been issued under the same to party leaders” said DSW Nahar. The rally schedule is: 10.30 am for SOI that’s the first rally, then 11.30 am is allotted to SFS, and this is followed by ABVP at 12.30 pm. Rally schedule for the timing slots of 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm (last rally) has been allocated to INSO, NSUI and respectively.

 

A wire mesh of student Party Alliances

The student parties on Monday continued to declared alliances. SOI also showed their alliance with PUHH. SOI got the unconditional support of SOPU. PUSU is already in an alliance with NSO, PPSO, and ISA. NSUI is under an alliance with HSA, HIMSU,  and GGSU. The ABVP and INSO have no alliance and both the parties have their single candidate. And also that the SFS has decided to go ahead without any alliance.
