Odisha govt allows 4 assured career progressions for medical officers

Bhubaneswar: There is a reason to cheer for the medical officers in Odisha Medical and Health Services (OMHS) as the state government has brought out changes in the dynamic assured career progression (DACP) scheme assuring four career progressions/financial upgradations in the service period of a medical officer.
The state has allowed four upgradations on completion of six, 12, 18, and 24 years. Earlier, three career progressions were allowed under the DACP on completion of seven, 14, and 21 years.
Health secretary Shalini Pandit hoped that this change will bring about more commitment and dedication among the officers of medical community. The years of service for career progression will be counted on the basis of the years of regular service from the direct entry level recruited through the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), said the official notification.
It was long-standing demand of the medical officers of OMHS cadre. “In order to address long delays in promotions, the government has considered the revision in the existing structure of the DACP scheme,” said the notification.
