CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu state board Class X students have recorded 91.39% pass percentage which is an increase of 1.32% compared to the previous year.
Of 9,14,320 students who wrote the exam, 8,35,614 cleared. Of 4,55,017 girls who appeared for the exam, 4,30,710 cleared it. The pass percentage is 94.66%. As many as 4,04,904 of the 4,59,303 boys who appeared for the exam (88.16%) cleared it. The pass percentage of girls is 6.5% more compared to boys.
Perambalur district topped the state with highest pass percentage of 97.67%. It was followed by Sivaganga with 97.53% pass and Virudhunagar district with 96.22% pass.
Out of 12,638 schools, 3,718 schools achieved 100% pass. They include 1,026 government schools.
The pass percentage of private schools is 97.38% while aided schools registered 92.24% and government schools registered 87.45% pass.
Students registered the highest pass percentage in English with 98.93% clearing the exam. It was followed by social science and science with 95.83% and 95.75% pass percentage. In language, 95.55% students cleared the exam. Maths had least pass percentage with 95.54% clearing it.
Maths had the highest centums with 3,649 students scoring full marks and English had least centums with 89 students scoring full marks. In science, 3,584 students scored centums and 320 students got 100% marks in social science. This year there are no centums in language.
Of 10,808 differently able candidates, 9,703 cleared the exam. The pass percentage is 89.77%.
Among the prisoners the pass percentage is 42.42%.
