Chandigarh: Scholarships worth over Rs 23 crore will be provided by the Desh Bhagat University in session 2023-24 to students in different categories.
Sandeep Singh, President, Desh Bhagat University, and Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice-President, DBU, disclosing this said that a special scholarship scheme named as DBEST (Desh Bhagat University Entrance Scholarship Test) is being offered by the University for meritorious and needy students. Under DBEST, up to 100 percent scholarships are given to the students who clear the entrance test.
He added that the Multiple Entry and Exit System (MEES) is the cornerstone of the new National Education Policy in higher education, which DBU is already following
Sadawarti said Shakti Scholarships are being provided to girl students under ‘Beti Padhao Beti Bachao’ initiative. The University also provides sports scholarships for the benefit and encouragement of the budding sportspersons, he said.
