PSEB Class 12 Result 2023 announced, girls clinch top 3 slots in Punjab


Sujan Kaur, a student of Dashmesh Convent Senior Secondary School Sardulgarh has topped in state by scoring 100% marks, in the class XII results declared here on Wednesday. Shreya Singla of MSD Senior Secondary Public School Bathinda secured the second position with 99.6% marks and Navpreet Kaur of B.C.M. Senior Secondary School Jamalpur Colony Focal Point Ludhiana secured the third position with 99.4% marks.
All the three girls had appeared in humanities stream and are overall toppers. Sujan scored 500 out of 500 marks; Shreya scored 498 out of 500 and Navpreet scored 497 out of 500 marks. The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has declared the results of class XII board exams here on Wednesday.
Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) declared the 10+2 examination results and the overall pass percentage of 92.47% in the Class XII results drops as compared to last year’s 96.96%.
As once again the girls outshine boys and fourth year in succession, the government schools continue to soar ahead of affiliated, associated and aided schools, said the board Chairperson Satbir Bedi. The results were announced by the Vice Chairman Virender Bhatia in presence of Controller of Examination Janak Raj Mehrok.
While elaborating the details, Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Controller of Examination Janak Raj Mehrok said that out of total 2,96,709 students appeared, 2,74,378 students, (92.47%) passed the board examinations this year. Whereas, last year the pass percentage was 96.96%, decline by 4.49%.
Girls have once again outshined boys as the pass percentage of Girls is 95.14% which was 97.78% last year whereas the boys scored 90.25% which was 96.27% last year. The pass percentage of the students of rural area schools is 92.17% 96.9% which was 96.90% last year and the students of urban area schools scored a total pass percentage of 92.90% which was 97% last year, he said.
The stream-wise pass percentage of regular students is 98.30% in Commerce which was 94.87% last year, 90.62% in Humanities which was 97.1% last year, 98.68% in Science which was 94 % last year and 84.66% in vocational stream which was 98.51% last year.
According to J R Mehrok Controller Exams, the digital certificate of the candidates will be available on DigiLocker after one week of the declaration of the result. Candidates can download their digital certificate through DigiLocker.
Candidates who had filled the option for hard copy of the certificate in their examination form, the certificate of such examinees can be obtained by the concerned schools from the zonal offices of the Education Board located in their district within three weeks of the declaration of the result.
Certificates of examinees appearing under Compartment, Additional Subject and Performance Improvement categories will also be provided on DigiLocker and certificates of examinees opting for hard copy of certificate will be sent by registered post.
Full details of the result will be available on Thursday, May 25 from 08:00 am on the Punjab School Education Board website www.pseb.ac.in and www.Indiaresults.com. These details regarding the result will be for the information of the students only.

Gurdaspur tops with 96.91% and Barnala top from bottom with 80.87%

Unlike last year, Gurdaspur district topped in the state with 96.91% pass percentage whereas last year Gurdaspur had topped from bottom with 94.21%, gaining 22 spots. This year Barnala has topped from bottom with 80.47% total pass percentage.
Pathankot district which had topped in the state with 98.49% pass percentage last year dropped to second spot this year 96.71% pass percentage in the state followed by Amritsar with 96.46% total pass percentage.
In Gurdaspur, a total of 22,439 students appeared out of which 21,746 passed; In Pathankot, a total of 6987 students appeared out of which 67572 passed; In Amritsar, a total of 27,283 students appeared out of which 26,317 passed.


Govt schools pass percentage drops by 5.57%

The overall pass percentage of the government schools have dropped by 5.57% as compared to the last year. This year government school pass percentage is 91.86% which was 97.43% last year.
Though, the Government Schools have again proved their mettle by sustaining glory for the consecutive third year in the + 2 PSEB examination results declared here today, said the PSEB Vice Chairman Varinder Bhatia. It seems that the motivational drive launched to convert government schools into “Smart Schools” in infrastructural facilities as well as qualitative improvement in teaching-learning process and the tremendous efforts put in by the teachers under the department’s “Mission Cent Percent”, has virtually outsmarted the private schools in the state, he said.
