NEET 2023 turnout crosses 97 per cent in Bhubaneswar


BHUBANESWAR: The capital city on Sunday witnessed a huge turnout of candidates for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) (UG)-2023 examination this year held at 22 examination centres. It recorded 97.8 per cent attendance.
Out of 14,481 candidates registered to appear for the medical entrance examination, 316 were absent. Similarly, more than 50,000 candidates appeared for the examination conducted at 125 centres in 27 cities across the state.
Biswaranjan Gaya, a candidate who appeared for his examination at a centre in Bhubaneswar, said questions were bit tough compared to last year. “Chemistry was a little lengthy. This year’s biology paper is easy but not like last year’s questions. I have done well in all papers,” he added.
In India, 20.59 lakh candidates had registered their names to appear for the NEET (UG)-2023.
Similarly, the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE)-2023 will start from Monday and continue till May 15. As many as 55,979 candidates will appear for the OJEE-2023 this year through computer-based test (CBT) mode at 47 test centres including three in outside state.
On the first day, tests will be conducted for lateral entry into BTech or LE tech (diploma) in three shifts. On May 9, examinations will be conducted for MCA/MSc (computer science) in the first two shifts and the third shift will have tests for MTech (11 subjects), M Arch, M Plan, M Pharm and BCAT.
On May 11, tests will be held for MBA in two shifts and the last shift will have examinations for LE Tech (BSc) and BCAT (film editing). On May 12, students will appear for BPharm in the entire three shifts. On May 15, they will appear for LE tech (diploma), integrated MBA and LE Pharm.
