VISAKHAPATNAM: A high-profile team of NABARD headed by deputy managing director PVS Surya Kumar visited GMR Varalakshmi foundation in Rajam of Vizianagaram district on Tuesday. The team consisted of NABARD chief general manager MR Gopal, deputy general manager KVS Prasad, and district development manager T Nagarjuna. A presentation on the activities of GMRVF was made to the team. After that, the team went around the campus and observed the facilities provided to the students. The team visited the EMPOWER production centre and interacted with the trainees of MEDP supported by NABARD and enquired about their settlement.
Afterwards, they went to NIRED campus and observed the skill development courses being conducted. NABARD DMD PVS Suryakumar participated in a pre-on-job training event of ‘refrigeration and air-conditioning’ training supported by NABARD. He advised all the trainees to become entrepreneurs instead of working under someone. NABARD CGM MR Gopal appreciated the activities of GMRVF, and the facilities provided to the trainees. DDM-Vizianagaram T Nagarjuna presented a vote of thanks to the dignitaries for their participation in the pre-OJT meet of refrigeration and air-conditioning trainees.
