PUNE: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Thursday declared the std XII Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination results with overall passing percentage of the state at 91.25 %. The passing percentage decreased by 3.03 % per cent compared to last year. In 2022 the state passing percentage was 94.2 per cent.
The written offline examination was conducted based on 100% syllabus things normalised post the pandemic.
This year too girls have an edge over boys 94.73 passing percentage as compared to boys which was 89.14 percent in the state. Highest passing percentage was in Konkan division with 96.01 per cent, followed by Pune division with 93.34per cent and the lowest percentage was in mumbai division with 88.13 per cent. The passing percentage of the physically challenged students this year was — per cent.
A total of 14,16371 students from Arts, Science and Commerce and Higher Secondary Vocational Courses (HSVC) registered for the exams. Out of which 1293468 students passed in this exam from nine divisions in the state.
On other hand a total of 35,879 repeater students registered for this year’s HSC examination out of which 15775 tudents were passed. The passing percentage of repeater students in the state was 44.33 per cent.
The year-wise data of HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) exams reflects the passing percentage of students over the last five years. In 2023, the passing percentage stood at 91.25% while the previous year, 2022, witnessed a higher passing percentage of 94.22%. The year 2021 recorded passing percentage of 99.63% and in 2020, the passing percentage was 90.66%. The year 2019 saw a passing percentage of 85.88%, indicating a slight dip compared to the previous years. In 2018, the passing percentage stood at 88.41%.
