Rohtak: Unable to get UGC pay scales despite repeated representations, the faculty members of Pandit Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts, Rohtak (PLCSUPVA) on Tuesday have started a sit-in inside the campus to get the demand fulfilled.
Indranil Ghosh, president, PLCSUPVA teachers’ association said that they are highly disappointed by the administration’s failure to implement the 7th CPC, increments, and promotions in the UPC pay scales for more than a decade.
He said that while the new recruits have been offered salaries as per the 7th CPC in UGC pay scales, the existing faculties members have not received any benefit from this scheme.
“The founding faculty members of the university have been working tirelessly to
create a legacy of academic excellence for the institution. However, it is disheartening to see that their efforts have been undermined by the university administration’s failure in giving out the benefits”, he added.
He said that the founding members have adopted the protest mode in a democratic manner to express their grievances and demand fair treatment for all faculty members.
They demanded the immediate attention of the government and chancellor-cum-governor to take urgent note of their genuine demand.
