JEE Main Result 2023: Priyanka Sar emerges state topper from Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday announced the result of JEE (Main)- 2023 for paper-I (BE/BTech). Priyanka Sar is the Odisha topper after two sessions of examinations are over.
Priyanka, a native of Bhubaneswar, secured 99.985 NTA score. She had secured 99.948 percentile in the Session-I of JEE Main-2023. In Session-II, she has improved her score. This KIIT International School student was also taking help from a coaching institute for preparation.
“Physics was easy, but mathematics was a little difficult for me. I was devoting a major portion of my preparation for mathematics. In the examination too, I was giving more time to mathematics compared to physics and chemistry,” said Priyanka, who was the state topper of National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) conducted by national council of educational research and training (NCERT) in 2020.
She was not comfortable with online study. “My performance was down because of online study in 11th class. I focussed on offline study in Class XII and it brought good results. In my point of view, online classes are not productive. I was seeking help from teachers for clearing any doubts regarding any topic,” said Priyanka, daughter of a businessman.
The topper said the JEE Main aspirants should stay in good spirits instead of remaining demotivated. “They should steal some time from the busy study schedule for themselves. The aspirants should not get depressed with less marks in the first attempt and try for the second session for improvement,” she added.
Priyanki Sar, mother of Priyanka, expressed her happiness over the result. “My daughter has tried very hard to do well in the Session-II. We were not giving her any pressure so that she can focus on her studies,” she added.
She will choose computer science as his subject of study while taking admission. “I will try to get a good rank in JEE Advanced to ensure a seat in IIT. But IIT Bombay is my favourite,” she added.
The JEE Main session-I examination was conducted from January 24 to February 1. Session II test was conducted between April 6 and April 15. A total of 43 students from different states scored 100 NTA scores. But nobody from Odisha has secured the perfect score, NTA sources said.
Students from different higher secondary schools in the city secured good percentile in the JEE Main examination. As many as 16 students of ODM Public School secured more than 99 percentile. One Pratyush Dash of the school secured 99.94 percentile. Total 12 students of Sai International School secured more than 99 percentile. Its student Amrutanshu Mohanty was Odisha topper in session-I by securing 99.97 percentile. In the second session, Sanket Das got 99.91 percentile.
