KARNAL: Jasmeet Kaur of Sant Nikka Singh public school in Karnal Model Town bagged the second position in XII examination of which results were declared by HBSE on Monday.
Jasmeet, a student of commerce stream, secured 497 (97.4 percent) marks out of 500.
Her father, Harvinder Pal Singh, is a taxi driver, while her mother Manjeet Kaur is a teacher in a private school. They live in a rented accommodation in Karnal.
Jasmeet said that she used to study more than 15 hours daily and maintained the distance from social media. She gave the credit for achieving this result to her teacher and parents.
Jasmeet said,’ She followed the guidance of her teachers and gave a hundred percent to my study. I wanted to become a Chartered Accountant (CA) and I have already started the preparation for the entrance exam.”
Her mother said,” Jasmeet makes us proud by grabbing 2nd position in the state. Her result brings a new hope for our family. “
