NEW DELHI: The semester examinations for the first and third batches of D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) have been postponed due to the re-examination of the Village Development Officer (VDO) and Gram Panchayat Officer. Originally scheduled to take place from June 26 to July 1, 2023, the exams have now been rescheduled to July 3-8, 2023.
The Secretary of the Examination Regulatory Authority Office, Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi, stated that the decision to postpone the D.El.Ed. exams was made in response to requests from candidates due to the VDO re-examination. Approximately 14.27 lakh candidates are expected to appear for these exams.
It is worth noting that the previous examination for these positions was cancelled by the state government on March 25, 2021, following complaints of malpractice. In light of the upcoming exams, Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra and Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission, Praveer Kumar, instructed Divisional Commissioners to make necessary preparations during a joint video conferencing session.
To ensure a smooth examination process, a total of 737 examination centres have been established across various districts. The chief secretary emphasized the importance of maintaining order and preventing any chaos, similar to the previous qualifying examination, due to the significant movement of people expected throughout the districts.
With the rescheduled dates, the first semester exams will now be conducted from July 3 to 5, 2023, while the third semester exams will be held from July 6 to 8, 2023. Candidates are advised to stay updated with further announcements and instructions from the Examination Regulatory Authority Office regarding the revised examination schedule.
