Amritsar: Amidst the excitement, the documentary film, “A Unique Style of Indo-Sarcenic Building – Khalsa College Amritsar,” was released on Friday at the Khalsa College campus.
Produced and directed by heritage promoter and nature artist Harpreet Sandhu, the film aims to shed light on the architectural marvel of the historic building, which was established in 1892 during the British era.
Dedicated to International Museum Day, the premiere of the film witnessed the presence of dignitaries including Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Honorary Secretary,Khalsa College Governing Council, Garish Bali, Commissioner of Income Tax, Sandeep Rishi, Commissioner, Amritsar Municipal Corporation, Joginder Singh, Additional Commissioner of Customs etc.
Chhina described the documentary as a concise introduction to the historically significant architectural masterpiece, renowned worldwide for its unique style.
During the event, a pictorial brochure showcasing the heritage building was also unveiled.
The film provides viewers with a captivating glimpse of the Khalsa College building, displaying a harmonious blend of Mughal, Sikh, and Victorian architecture, characterized by an impressive red sandstone façade and highlighting the invaluable contributions of the renowned architect Bhai Ram Singh, the then-Principal of Mayo College of Arts, Lahore, who designed this precious gem of Indian heritage, stated Chhina.
