NEP 2020 Aspires to Strengthen new Learning Paradigm says, Subhas Sarkar

Addressing the 8th annual convocation of the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, the Union Minister of State (MoS) for Education Subhas Sarkar stated that the New Education Policy 2020 aims to strengthen the new learning paradigm by adopting new education technologies or developing available in-house skills. He went on to state that the students’ acquired knowledge will help them to establish values as well as contribute to the nation and the world’s development. He also stressed that now is the time to learn about our predecessors and ancestors, as well as to include Indian knowledge systems in teaching and learning.

Expressing his hope, he added, “our future generations will ‘Dream More and Achieve More’ and lead India towards prosperity and global leadership.”

1016 DEGREES AWARDED

At the convocation, a total of 1016 degrees were awarded to 522 undergraduate, 350 postgraduate students from different courses, 15 Dual Degree students of five courses, and 129 Ph.D. scholars.

39 MEDALS AWARDED

A total of 39 candidates who scored the highest marks in a variety of disciplines were awarded medals.

However, Subhechchha Paul from the Mechanical Engineering Department was awarded the President of India Gold Medal for securing the first rank amongst the undergraduates of all ten engineering disciplines taken together.
